When suggested to the wren that there are birds that can fly hundreds of miles at a stretch without alighting, it quickly replied that such a thing was impossible. Why everyone knows well that the furthest one can ever get, even by the most tremendous effort, is to that elm tree over there, and even this one cannot be sure of reaching every time. These stories about birds flying hundreds of miles at a stretch are sheer nonsense.
