"Always remember that the true meaning of Budo (martial arts with philosophy) is that soft overcomes hard, small overcomes large" - Grandmaster Mas Oyama
I am a warrior and a scholar
As a martial artist, I am strong inside and outside. My martial arts balance me.
My mind is focused
As a martial artist I maintain a state of relaxed focus, always. I am aware of what is around me.
My body is strong.
As a martial artist, my body is my instrument. For it to work at its best level, my body needs exercise and healthy food. I choose what is good for me.
My words are kind.
As a martial artist, I understand that what I say has an impact on the people around me. I choose my words, mindfully. I look for opportunities to uplift people with my words.
My actions are honest.
As a martial artist, I do what is right even thou no one is watching. I am honest with myself, and others. I don’t say it if it isn’t true, I don’t take it if it doesn’t belong to me.
My mission is excellence
As a martial artist, I am on a lifelong path of self-improvement. I don’t spend my time idly. Everyday, I am looking for ways to improve myself, and achieve my goals. I expect the best from myself.
I persevere, always.
I am on a lifelong path, and that path is not easy. When things feel as if they’re too much, I remind myself that I am not one who gives up.
